Salutations friend, I am the Once-ler, Don of the Lonely Troll's Gambit Smuggling Syndicate. I'm here to offer you a position in the Gambit's Cell #2. To be clear, we are smugglers. Not pirates. We smuggle contraband and plan on living long and fruitful lives. If you want to blast your way through 'lancers until someone puts a bullet in your head, best look somewhere else. We move sensitive goods around the 'verse, as quickly and quietly as possible.

That said, just because we don't make a living feeding off other ships, doesn't mean we won't get our hands dirty. You will see combat. How much and how bloody, I can't say, but if things get rough, you will be expected to defend yourself and your cell.

I should explain how we operate.

Here at the Gambit, we fly in cells of 5 - 10 pilots. Each cell is an independent unit that we can call out on a smuggling run or other mission. We set up the syndicate like this so that if one cell goes down, or can't make a run, we can just bring up another one for the mission, without having the massive, bureaucratic overhead that some orgs have.

When you're not on mission, you do whatever you want. We don't care whether you're a cop, a merchant or a bum as long as you're willing to move that contraband from point A to point B.

So what will your job in Cell #2 be? It depends. If you like blowing things up, you might fly escort. You like to take it slower and get the goods to the destination? Fly a transport. You want to fly fast and furious? You might be running blockades. You want to kill people? We can always use a hit man. You don't have to worry about being stuck in one specific role; you will simply be a member of Cell-2. For a limited time, your starting rank will be Captain. If you prove your worth and your loyalty to the syndicate, you could make Lieutenant and lead the cell. The more you do for the Gambit, the bigger cut of the profit you'll take.
